Currently there is no risk to public safety for residents outside of this area. Officers have ensured that residents in the area of Leblanc Rd and Drive In Rd have been evacuated to safety. If this changes an update would be issued. ^ag

Statement from West Nipissing Police Chief Raymond St Pierre issued Sunday 10:35pm:
The West Nipissing Police Service, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, is currently investigating a shooting involving at least two people. The incident was reported at approximately 8:15pm this evening when police responded to a 911 call regarding the shooting.. Police have responded to the Leblanc Road area of Sturgeon Falls and are actively seeking a 46-year-old man.
Residents in the Drive-In Road and Leblanc Road area are asked to remain in their residences and to lock their doors and windows.
