English public school teachers in Ontario have been awarded salary increases totaling 11.25% over four years.
The arbitrator’s decision involves 80,000 Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario members and 60,000 Ontario Secondary School Federation members.
The award covers 2022-2026 with 3% increases in each of the first two years.
That’s followed by a 2.75% increase this school year and 2.5% in 2025-26.

Both unions say the decision represents the highest increase over the term of an agreement in over a decade.
They add the arbitrator disappointingly refused to establish new class sizes for de-streamed classes.
