Traffic impacted by fire on Front St. and bison are on the loose near Lavigne

Traffic is being impacted by a fire at an old gas station in the 100 block of Front Street.

Fire crews and Ontario Provincial Police were still on the scene after 8 am Friday.

At last check, the highway is closed from Clark to Arthur, with motorists being detoured.   

Meantime, Nipissing West OPP are advising drivers to watch for bison in the Lavigne area of Highway 64.

This after a fence was damaged from a fallen tree.

Provincial police say about 50 bison wandered off the property to the surrounding area.

The OPP is asking drivers to slow down and drive safe in that area.
