There have now been nine wildfires in the North Bay MNR District since the start of the season.
A blaze that is 0.3 hectares in size was reported Sunday just west of Lake Timiskaming.
Officials say it’s under control.
The fire hazard is moderate in West Nipissing while it’s low in the North Bay area.
There are six other active fires in the northeast region, all in the Cochrane MNR District.
Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services reports areas of Timmins and Hearst, and up north to the James Bay, have a high fire hazard.
