Willy Wonka on stage at SJSH

Musical Theatre students from across the district will be showcasing their talents at St Joseph-Scollard Hall this week.

Willy Wonka is the production being put on through the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board’s Summer Challenge Program.

Students from grade 6 through grade 12 are acting, singing, dancing and designing, all while earning credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

“The cast is full of talented individuals with bright futures in theatre,” says Ella Baxter, who plays the title role of Charlie. “We’ve worked incredibly hard, and I believe it’s going to be an amazing show.”

Whitney Cerilli, production director, is excited for the curtain to rise.

“We’re thrilled for the community to join us and support the show,” Cerilli says. “These young performers have given their all to create a delightful experience, and we hope the audience enjoys it as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Performances will take place in the Bishop Carter Auditorium at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School on Thursday July 18, Friday July 19, and Saturday July 20.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door, or in advance at the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall front office or at Creative Learning.

The doors will open each night at 6 pm and the show will begin at 7 pm.
