Weather advisories and school buses cancelled again (March 6)

A flash freeze warning is in effect for the West Nipissing area.

Environment Canada says temperatures are expected to drop quickly Thursday morning.

Officials say ponding water, slush, and any falling precipitation will freeze as the temperature drops.

This as a general weather advisory continues, with snowfall amounts of 5-10 cm possible and strong gusting winds reducing visibility in snow and blowing snow.

The weather agency says rain or periods of drizzle are expected to switch over to snow Thursday morning, with some freezing rain possible too.

The system is expected to move out of the region Thursday night.

For a second day in a row, school transportation officials say all school buses across all weather zones are cancelled today (Thurs. March 6).

Schools remain open.

The Ministry of Natural Resources has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety bulletin for the North Bay district until Monday.

Officials say residents should keep a close watch on conditions and exercise caution around rivers and streams.

They say with all the precipitation, lower-lying or flood-prone areas could be impacted.
