Curling Club reaches goal thanks to feds, accessibility improvements to be completed by October

$125,000 is on the way to the Sturgeon Falls Curling Club for accessibility enhancements.

Officials say the money, which is from the feds’ Enabling Accessibility Fund, will enable the club to build an accessible ramp, lift, washroom and more.

MP Marc Serré says accessibility goes beyond infrastructure, as it fosters community inclusion and combats social isolation.

Club President Louise Gauthier says they’re delighted to finally have the funds to complete the project they’ve planned, as they have been working diligently to make the club more accessible for both their members and the community.

The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of October 2025.
