(Update) Active measles cases drop back to zero in the district

There have now been 12 confirmed cases of measles in the North Bay Parry Sound District.

That update on the Health Unit’s website, which also says an earlier active case is no longer active.  

Across the province, the number of measles cases in Ontario continues to rise rapidly.

Public Health Ontario reports 155 new cases over the past week, bringing the total to 816 since the outbreak began last fall.

The agency says 61 people are in hospital, an increase of 11.

47 of them are children.
