Sale of Ontera postponed

The closing date for the sale of Ontera to Bell has been postponed. The sale was supposed to be completed at the beginning of this month, but word is it won’t be finalized until early September. The controversial sale will see half of the full time Ontera work force cut over two years. Canada’s competition bureau is investigating whether Bell Aliant will have a telecommunications monopoly in Northeastern Ontario if the sale goes through. This is after the city of North Bay launched a formal complaint.
