Food Bank use up in North Bay…

More people are using the Food Bank in North Bay. 11-thousand people have used the Food Bank in the city this year, which is up more than 500 people compared to 2013. Province wide, there has been a 20 per cent increase in food bank use, according to the Ontario Food Bank Association’s 2014 Hunger Report. Amanda King is the Manager of Memberships and Communications for the report, and says that 17-thousand people accessed a Food Bank in March, for the very first time in their lives. King adds that one of the reasons for the increase is the number of insecure jobs in Ontario.
