A Sault Ste. Marie man has a mid-December court date for a slew of charges.
West Nipissing OPP says they got a call about a pickup truck that had slammed into a hydro pole on Highway 535 near St. Charles on Sunday.
When police got there they spotted a heavily damaged pick up but no sign of the driver. They found him hiding in a shed that they say he had forced open.
He was treated for minor injuries.
As a result, the 32-year old was charged with:
·      Mischief – Destroys or Damages Property, contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
·      Breach of Recognizance, contrary to section 811 of the CC
·      Careless Driving, contrary to section 130(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA);
·      Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle, contrary to section 12(1)(d) of the HTA;
·      Fail to Remain, contrary to section 200(1)(a) of the HTA;
·      Fail to Report Accident, contrary to section 199(1) of the HTA; and
·      Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
